Tori Taphorn
Tori teaches vinyasa, hatha, and meditation — connecting movement with breath and bringing awareness to how you stand, balance, and show up on your mat.
Tori’s teaching focuses on connecting movement with the breath and bringing awareness to different parts of the body. Classes are usually structured around a full-body flow while offering options to adjust the level of intensity in poses. Cueing is visual and verbal with very little hands-on adjustment, and classes are set to ambient or instrumental music matched to the pace of the practice, with a 3–6 minute savasana at the end.
In her vinyasa and hatha flow classes, expect to start slow and bring attention to your breath, then move with intention — noticing how you are moving and being present with the way you are breathing, standing, balancing, and connecting with your mat.
In power classes, expect the intensity to build. Sometimes quick movements, sometimes slowed down to challenge your steadiness. Classes are intentionally structured to increase range of motion and strength.
What I'd tell someone nervous about their first class
Showing up to the studio is the hardest part — you're already here, you might as well try it out! If feeling awkward is the worst that will happen, then you don't have a lot to lose.
The class I could teach forever, and why
Vinyasa flow! I love the movement and the challenge of finding new transitions and linking sequences together.
Off the mat
Straight vibing. Whether that's reading, painting, cycling, or hanging with my friends.
