Steph Healey

Practicing since 2004 and trained in the Iyengar tradition, Steph teaches a strong, Ashtanga-based practice that blends breath, challenging postures, and a little bit of laughter. Her own Mysore practice keeps her humble; her three kids keep her playful.

Steph has been devoted to her practice since 2004, after an introduction to Ashtanga in university. She walked into a class at the Yoga Loft and knew right away it was a world she wanted to be part of. Over the years she learned more about living a yogic lifestyle and the benefits of steady practice. After a later-term pregnancy loss in 2014, she turned to yoga to heal, took a leap of faith, and completed her 200-hour Iyengar teacher training in Costa Rica — returning renewed and ready to teach.

She has since come back to her love of Ashtanga and a strong Vinyasa practice. Her own Mysore practice is both humbling and empowering, and it shapes how she teaches: a strong, Ashtanga-based class that blends breath, challenging postures, and a little laughter. She wants students to enjoy the process, accept that no two days feel the same, find the lightness in it, and never compare their practice to anyone else’s. Her greatest inspiration is her three children, whose playfulness and fearlessness remind her to take life as it comes.
