Meet Your Educators

Shannon Shea

Senior Applied Educator | Co-Owner, Nice Time Pilates

Shannon's path to Pilates began while living in Australia, where she discovered the method as a response to chronic back pain. That experience shaped a belief she's carried through more than 20 years of teaching and over 25 years of personal practice — that Pilates is both rehabilitative and deeply empowering.

Comprehensively trained in mat and all apparatus, Shannon's education spans Balanced Body, Garuda, and The Pilates Center, with study rooted in established lineages closely connected to second-generation Pilates pedagogy. She also holds 200-hour and 300-hour yoga teacher certifications. Shannon has trained teachers across multiple programs and currently mentors instructors at Nice Time Pilates, supporting both apprentice and experienced teachers as they develop strong fundamentals and an authentic teaching voice.

Tara Berry

Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT) | Co-Founder, Canadian Pilates Certification

A former university-level gymnast, Tara was first introduced to Pilates as a way to address chronic back pain — an experience that shaped her understanding of the method as both rehabilitative and performance-enhancing. She holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta, specializing in Physical Education, and spent five years teaching at the high school level before transitioning fully into Pilates education.

With 25 years of experience teaching Pilates and comprehensive training through Body Harmonics in Toronto, Tara brings a structured, analytical approach to teacher development. Her additional certifications include Yoga (200-hour), Essentrics Level 4, Barre, and Yoga Nidra. She is known for precise observation, clear assessment, and her ability to help teachers build confidence through high standards and structured progression.

A Yogalife Collaboration

This training is hosted at Yogalife Studios in partnership with Canadian Pilates Certification. It reflects our shared commitment to education that is rigorous, personal, and rooted in real practice.
